I am a big Revlon fan , especially when it comes to their foundations. The Revlon Colorstay foundation is an all-time favourite of mine. It matches my skin tone perfectly, it blends into my skin easily without looking cakey and it looks like I’m not wearing any foundation at all. Anyway Since I was so impressed with Revlon, I wanted to give their other products a try as well. So I picked up the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in #117 Almost Nude. I love a good nude lipstick that enhances your lips in a subtle way and I thought that this would be the perfect shade for me.

The Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick is available in a big range of different shades and retails for about £7.50, which is already at the higher end of drugstore lipsticks. Most lipsticks can be quite drying, but this Revlon lipstick has a very creamy consistency and is highly pigmented. The colour pay-off is really good with this lipstick and I really like the colour. It’s not quite nude but still looks natural. I don’t really know much about lipsticks, because I don’t really use them that often and I prefer just using a tinted lip balm or just a regular one without any colour pigments, so I can’t really comment on the longevity of this particular lipstick in comparison to other lipstick products out there.

Unfortunately, you will need to check up on this lipstick from time to time to make sure that it hasn’t settled in the corners of your lips, which can look quite unattractive. Even though this lipstick is quite creamy it can dry out your lips during the day and set into creases and cracks on the lips. My advice is to avoid lipstick if you are having dry and chapped lips, but if you really want to use a lipstick make sure to use a sugar scrub to exfoliate dead skin cells on your lips. Alternatively you can use a toothbrush to exfoliate your lips. Make sure to sufficiently moisturise it afterwards with a good lip balm afterwards. I recommend the Carmex lip balm for that. Once your lips are prep you can use the lipstick. If you want the lipstick to last longer you can use a lip liner first to line and fill out your lips with it before applying the lipstick. The lip liner will help to make the lipstick last longer and it will prevent it from settling into the cracks.

Overall, this is an OK lipstick. I like the nude shade and there are a lot of colours to choose from. It is very pigmented and one layer is enough to achieve an opaque look. However I also find that it can be drying at times, especially during the colder seasons, but I guess that’s the problem with most lipsticks. You will need to re-apply this lipstick every now and then, especially after having food or drinks. If you are looking for cheaper alternatives I can highly recommend the Rimmel Lasting Finish Lip Stick. It is just as good as the Revlon Lipsticks and it’s cheaper.
