Pros: inexpensive, large variety of colors
Cons: chips easily

I have a love/hate relationship with Island Girl nail polishes. I love their spectrum of vibrant hues, and reasonably low price tag. These qualities make them great souvenir purchases for anyone who wants to take a piece of Hawaii to a young nail polish fan. On the other hand, I hate the low quality of the polish itself.Island Girl basecoat and topcoat is pretty much required if you're going to wear any of the other Island Girl polishes. First, it's nice to have a smooth base layer, but as a top coat it adds a necessary level of shine.

Don't confuse this base/top coat with a top shelf product, the price is set low for a good reason. The Island Girl line of products is like a summer romance – it's made to be enjoyed for a short time, but not meant to last forever.

Pick up plenty of colors to spread around to the polish fanatics back at the home office, they'll appreciate the thought, and it won't break your bank. As a souvenir-class polish, Island Girl is perfect. Just remember to wear apply the top coat.Island Girl usually sells for $2.99 at ABC stores, and can be purchased online in limited supplies and colors.
