I bought this nail polish about 6 months ago. It was one of the first nail polishes that I have ever bought and I didn’t really know what brands where good and what makes a nail polish good, so I did some internet research and found that China Glaze had really good reviews.  I was looking at drugstore nail polishes, but since the China Glaze nail polish had the best reviews out of all, I ended up going for that one. I had to order it online, because it wasn’t available in stores. I think I bought it on ebay for about £5-£6, which isn’t too expensive but not that cheap either.

I wanted a colour for spring/summer so I want for the shade “For Audrey”, which is a bright turquoise colour. I absolutely love this colour, although I have to admit that when I first got the nail polish it looked a lot darker and somewhat murky. Once I painted it on my nails though it was the perfect colour. It’s a really summery colour and suits pretty much anyone.

I would recommend using a base and a top coat for this nail polish. The base coat prevents your finger nails from staining. Otherwise you will end up with turquoise stained fingernails. The top coat helps the nail polish to last longer and prevents it from chipping easily. I did find that this nail polish chips easily on me. I’m not sure if it’s just me, because I always fiddle around and a few hours later I already have the first chip, especially on my thumb nail.

When I applied this nail polish I normally use 2 coats to have an opaque look. The consistency is quite thick in my opinion. I’m not sure if it’s the formula, but I have a little trouble when applying this nail polish because it’s a little gloopy and difficult to evenly apply or maybe the online seller just send me a slightly dried out product. I don’t know. My Nails Inc Gel Polish Effect Nail polish is a lot easier to use and spreads more easily than the China Glaze polish.

Overall, I really love the colour. It’s absolutely beautiful and I can recommend it to anyone who is looking for a spring or summer nail polish colour. As far as the product itself is concerned I’m not sure if it’s that great. It didn’t have a wow factor in my opinion and there are drugstore dupes for this shade out there. I won’t be purchasing any China Glaze nail polishes anymore. Instead I’ll go for Barry M products. I haven’t tried them yet, but they have a huge choice of different colours and finishes. I also prefer having nail polishes in smaller bottles. I feel that buying a big bottle of nail polish is just a waste of money, since I don’t use them very often and with the Barry M products there are always buy 3 for the price of 2 promotions, so they are a lot cheaper than the China Glaze products.

Whenever I see a bottle of China Glaze nail polish on sale, I try to snatch it up if the color is something I am looking for.  I have over 100 bottles of nail polish, from cheap to pretty ridiculously expensive.  China Glaze is more towards the pricey end of that scale, but the choices of colors… Read more
