Pros: hamsters love it, well-made

We've had a lot of hamsters in my family and, thus, have done a lot of trial and error with various hamster toys, treats, etc. The flying saucer from Ware is one of the top exercise toys I'd recommend to anyone new to hamsters. It's a lot of fun watching the hamsters run on the saucer, especially when they get so excited that they run too fast and wind up flying off the end (don't worry; they don't go flying too high or too fast and won't hurt themselves!) Not every single hamster we've had has been a fan of the saucer, but the majority of them are and will run for hours. The toy itself is very well-made. We've had at least five of them, and none of them have ever broken. The only negative I see is that the medium-sized saucer is too small for very large hamsters, while the next size up is designed for larger rodents like guinea pigs and way too big for a hamster. The majority of hamsters fit just fine, though. There is also a small size for dwarf hamsters. Definitely consider a flying saucer if you want something that will bring both you and your hamster plenty of entertainment.
