Pros: variety of colors available
Cons: smudges easily

I'm so upset! These highlighter pens left smears all over my study guide that I used for my class. While these sharpies probably work well on printed words and with a ballpoint pen, they do NOT work well with gel ink pens! No matter how long I waited for the ink to dry, every time I highlighted what I wrote, it smeared all over the place. It's even worse if you try to re-highlight. It works more as an eraser!

I've tried lots of highlighters within my academic career and I love to write with gel ink. This highlighter has really let me down. I wanted my notes to look nice and pretty but it ended up looking like a yellow and black mess.

I at least appreciate the highlighter because I doesn't bleed though the paper, and the tip is nice, giving it a precise application, but I really can't deal with the smearing. It's just such a letdown when you organize all of your notes in such a pretty way and then when you highlight the important parts, your words slide off the page.

Maybe using this with a ballpoint pen will be more suitable, as the ink isn't as susceptible to smearing in general. I would still try to find another highlighter though.

My daughter uses highlighters a lot in her schoolwork. She may need them to highlight something in a handout from a teacher, something in a rough draft of an essay she is writing, or even to use for areas on a map she is filling out for homework. Read more
