Personal information: work-at-home mom to a 1 year old.
Pros: bright colors, compact size
Cons: difficult to assemble, does not adjust, tips over
My son received the Hop Hop Trampoline as a gift for his first birthday. The instructions to put it together are unclear and the diagrams are awful, so it took a little bit longer than expected to assemble the trampoline. The thing we had the most trouble with during the assembly was getting the handle bar into place and moving the red rubber handles up so there was no gap between them. The latter was impossible, and we gave up.
Even though the assembly was more difficult than expected, my son loves it. He climbs on and off of it many times a day, and he sometimes just uses it as a chair. When he does climb up there to jump, sometimes the trampoline tips over. There is not enough weight in the back of the trampoline to keep it balanced. The bar is a little short, and while it is perfect for a 1-year-old, I do not see how the trampoline will fit a child that is over 2 or 3.
Overall, this trampoline is great for my son as long is someone is in the room with him to hold the back of the trampoline down as he bounces. While I do not see this as a toy he will be using for years to come, it is a good solution for now.
