I love the smell of vanilla, so I'm always on the lookout for great vanilla fragrances, and one tested and true product that I just can't let go of is my Gorilla Perfume Vanillary Solid Perfume from LUSH. I usually find solid perfumes a bit underwhelming, but this one smells divine. In fact, because it's a solid perfume it doesn't contain any alcohol, which my nose always seems to pick up on really strongly, making finding a perfume I like really difficult.
Doesn't look like perfume, but smells divine!
Remember to push the stick back down into the tube when you're done
Vanillary is made using real vanilla fruit extract and vanilla seed powder, but it's also paired with jasmine and tonka bean, giving the scent more depth and warmth. I like that it smells more like a vanilla dessert than a perfume, so I was delighted to learn that this product was actually inspired by exactly that (a pudding created by Heston Blumenthal to be exact)!
The solid perfume is easy to use. You simply push the base with your finger or thumb so that the stick raises out of the tube, and then you can use like a chapstick, swiping it across your pulse points or any part of your skin you choose. It does feel a little sticky when you first apply it, so I like to make sure it's rubbed in really well. While that slightly tacky feeling seems to leave my wrists, it doesn't seem to absorb into my neck as easily, but because I love the scent so much, I don't really let that bother me.
The top of the perfume can also get a little gunky with the lid constantly being screwed down onto it, so just remember to push the stick back down into the tube before replacing the lid. The best part of Vanillary besides the divine smell? Because it's the size of a lipstick, it can be thrown into my purse or pocket when I'm on the go to keep me smelling delicious all day long!
