These little treats look like marrow bones, but they are soft through and through. I do not know how they could help with a dog’s oral hygiene if they are soft. It claims to have green tea for fresh breath and calcium and phosphorus for strong teeth. They are chicken-flavored, and although I haven’t tried them myself, my dog will not eat them even if he is starving. He likes Pedigree Marrobones a lot, but he won’t even put these in his mouth.
Pedigree is a good brand that makes a reliable product. I took this bag of treats with me when I walked my dog and fed them to neighborhood dogs we passed. They were not refused by any dog so I know that some dogs find them tasty, but my dog won’t even try it. He smells it and then turns his nose up.
The package says they have a chewy texture. They do feel spongy, but it is not the texture my dog is rejecting; it is the smell. As far as I can tell, there is no smell to them, but there is something in them that makes them unappealing to my dog, which is a shame, because if they work, they’d be a great help. As it is, I have to brush my dog’s teeth because he won’t eat these dental treats.
