We have a young male Boston Terrier who has propensity to lick his front and back paws. Our vet suggested this may be due to nervousness while he is left alone during the day or simply boredom. This was after food allergies had been ruled out. One thought he had was to try giving him an anti stress tablet when we left. This would help to ease his anxiety that stems from being left alone. It was also suggested to give him a tablet when we found him licking excessively as that may be a sign of nervousness. Taking his recommendations to heart, we purchased a bottle of Pro-Sense Calming Tabs.
Excited to try them out, we didn't have to wait too long. One afternoon I noticed our pup licking his paws, so I gave him one of the stress tabs. There was no immediate change in behavior, and even after waiting a half hour to an hour we saw no difference. The next time we upped the dosage by a half, and still did not see a difference. Thinking it was just a one time thing, we tried a few subsequent times and still did not see any measurable benefit. Disappointed in the product, we simply threw the rest of the bottle away. Thankfully the licking problem has been resolved, no thanks to these calming tabs.
