I have gone through dozens of thumb drives in my life. Some of the time, they fail from being old, while other times, I may be the culprit for leaving them in my jeans when they go in the washing machine. The fact that I have been prone to forget these helpful tools in my pants made me worry a bit about this Kingston product. It has 8 gigabytes of memory, which for me in my career as a freelance writer, is perfect for thousands and thousands of documents, but it is so small. Despite it being so small, it works and stores all my data, making it perfect for what I need it for.
Setting the fear of the size aside, it is a thumb drive that operates like any other. It has a sturdy casing that should protect it during falls, but I haven’t tested how waterproof it is like my other drives and I hope I don’t have to. They also produce these same units with more memory, but I have never filled a thumb drive before and figure a 64 GB unit will likely break down before I ever come close to 30 GB.
