So I was feeling a bit impulsive the other day while strolling through the aisles at my local grocer, and, fueled by hormones and intense cravings for something chocolate, salty and crunchy, I picked up a package of Almond Joy Snack Mix.  There was a Mounds Snack Mix right next to it on the display, but what can I say? Sometimes I feel like a nut…

I’ll admit that I picked up an array of other snack packs that appeared visually appealing, but when it came time for the actual snacking, it was the Almond Joy snack mix that I reached for first.  I think it’s because the bright blue packaging made it stand out from the bunch. All I know for certain was the package was empty much too early, some handfuls contained only pretzels, and I don’t think I counted more than two almonds in the entire package.  The tiny, round pretzels were almost a little too crunchy for my taste, especially when some bites were nothing but pretzel, but they did bring an ideal balance of salty flavor, so it’s really a toss-up when it comes to preference. All that grumbling aside, it was delicious, satisfying, and left me wanting more.

I would absolutely buy this snack mix again, and might even consider buying the larger package if I was suffering intense enough cravings.
