For someone who buys most of her beauty products at Walgreens, I sure do spend a lot on shampoo. But it is totally worth it. I have tried drug store shampoos, and they’re okay for a week or two, but my hair always ends up feeling a little funky. It gets dry, or limp, or starts to feel like there’s a lot of build-up.
Various hair dressers have recommended different shampoos, but the one I’ve settled on as THE BEST is Pureology. I alternate between the Pure Volume (the pink bottle) and the Hydrate (the purple bottle), because I love them both, and they do slightly different things to my hair. Pure Volume is, well, to use their word, a really pure shampoo. It makes your hair feel really clean, but not that squeaky, stripped kind of clean. You could almost go without conditioner afterward. I personally have to use conditioner, because my hair is so thick, I look like a haystack unless I use conditioner. Pureology also tends to leave your hair cleaner longer. I wash my hair every other day, and that second day, my hair and my scalp feel perfect. If I didn’t work out so much, I might even be able to get a third day out of it. With other shampoos, my hair has started to feel a little greasy by the afternoon of the second day.
So it’s totally worth it to spend a lot on shampoo. You really do get your money’s worth. And of the expensive, salon shampoos out there, I recommend Pureology as the best!
