I have been using broadband internet since it first became an option. For a long time, however, I used just standard broadband, with basic speeds. Due to a growing network infrastructure, however, a couple of years ago I upgraded to a faster connection, which meant replacing my standard broadband cable modem with a new one, capable of handling the multi threaded streams and faster speeds. The Arris CM820A is one of a few modems with this capability.
Arris CM820A Modem
Although most electronics tend to have periodic issues and need restarted or reconfigured, the Arris CM820A has been very stable. The only time I have ever had to reboot or reconfigure this modem have been situations where the internet service provider has had problems and my connection has gone out, or if, in extreme circumstances, a local storm has knocked out my power. In these situations the Arris CM820A may stop responding or seeing the connection, but a simple reboot usually fixes the issue. In the three years that I have owned this modem, I can count the number of times I've had an issue on one hand. Those are pretty good odds for any electronic device. This is a great, and affordable, modem for anyone with a broadband connection.
