I hate the taste of most cough medicines and will often skip over them and choose a flavored cough drop instead. I had definitely had enough of the coughing that was keeping me awake and my daughter out of school. We decided to try the Robitussin Long Acting because she wanted to go to school to take a test she'd studied hard for. The taste was not disappointing, it was as unpleasant as I'd expected it to be. However, within 10 minutes both myself and my daughter had stopped coughing. She was confident enough to go to school for the big test. I noticed that my dosage of cough medicine wore off after about 3 and a half hours. I waited another half hour and took another dose. This dose lasted closer to 6 hours. I was worried about my daughter being in school with that nagging hacking cough. She called me about 4 hours into her day and told me she would need to come home, the cough medicine had worn off. Luckily she was able to take her test and she never felt any drowsiness from the cough medicine.
I would say that I'd definitely use this again simply because I could plan to have my things done within 4 to 6 hours. I would just have to be careful to schedule accordingly and take my cough medicine at the right time. I wish the taste would improve but it's not a deal breaker, it doesn't taste any worse than most other cough medicines.
