We were looking for a small, sweet chandelier for my daughter’s bedroom that would be both beautiful and girly, but also put out a lot of light. Hard to find! We ordered a beautiful pink chandelier, but it turns out it only took really low-watt bulbs. What is the point of that?
I came upon the Kristaller chandelier at ikea.com by accident when I was looking for something else altogether, and I was so excited! It takes high-watt bulbs, and it’s very pretty! In fact, I like it better than the sweet pink one we bought before, because my daughter won’t hate this one when she becomes a teenager. It can hang happily in her room indefinitely.
It’s a nice silver tone that doesn’t show the dust, and it has pretty faceted glass pieces. Best yet, it takes standard candle-shape lightbulbs. I’ve bought Ikea lights before that took Swedish standard bulbs that you had to buy at Ikea. These came from our local hardware store. It’s got an adjustable chain so you can mount it high or low, and it was really easy to install. My husband, who is not an electrician, did it himself! (though I officially do not recommend installing it yourself… Do not try this at home!)
A great product from Ikea!
