Even though this blanket is not as manly as my husband would like it to be, I opted for this for my son because I thought it was a cute addition to his woodland creature themed nursery. When I originally purchased the blanket it was on sale for about $25, and it was the last one that Amazon had in stock, so I quickly scooped it up. The pattern is adorable and the back green velour side of the blanket is super soft for a newborn or older baby to cuddle with.
However, even though the blanket is warm, perhaps I made the mistake of drying it in the dryer because it has started to curl up where the velour meets the print fabric on the edges. It doesn’t affect the use of the blanket, it just makes you a little upset because the price is rather high. I can’t imagine many new and busy mothers have time to hang dry their baby blankets (or perhaps that is just me).
Additionally, even though I thought the price was high for a newborn blanket, I checked back on Amazon to see if there were any other matching items and saw that the price of this blanket is back at its original $86!! I cannot imagine that this blanket is worth that much money and am so glad that I happened to get it while it was on sale. So, while this is a cute addition to a girl, or boy’s, nursery, I have to question whether or not it is really lives up to the Skip Hop name. Certainly the price does!
