I purchased the Fisher-Price Precious Planet Whale of a Tub because I thought it was affordable and aesthetically cute (which isn’t super important for my son), and because of the Fisher-Price name. At just over $20, this tub was perfect for my son when he was less than two months old. The inner seat and seat back cushion made it easy for me to lean him back just a little and scrub him, without the feat that he was going to fall. The angle of the tub was perfect for him to look at me and made for some good mommy and baby time while he was being bathed.
This tub was shaped well, so it fit conveniently in along the outside of the sink, which was perfect for the drain plug to release water after the bath. I think for the price of this tub, and the amount of use that I have been able to get out of it that it was a good investment. However, now that my son is bigger (nearly three months), he is a little too big for the tub. He can now pull himself forward a little on the seat, so it has become a little more inconvenient to bathe him. Additionally, the seat now digs into his back when he is sitting in the base of the tub to be rinsed.
But, it gets the job done and beats paying $40 plus dollars for some other tubs on the market.
