I purchased the Fisher-Price monkey swing for my second son because my first-born loved his Fisher-Price lamb swing so much.
When we took the monkey swing out of the box we were immediately impressed with some of the features, including four different tunes to choose from, and the fact that it could be plugged in, which I don’t remember being an option with the lamb swing a few years back.
We splurged and paid almost $200 for the swing and it took my husband about a half hour to put all the parts together. When it was completed it was cute and seemed to be everything a mom could want in a swing. However, after just a few days of using it (less than an hour a day) the batteries were drained and the swing wouldn’t move. When the batteries were replaced it seemed as though the speed settings were either slow and minimal or fast, no happy medium. On top of that, my son quickly outgrew the seat, he isn’t even three months old and his feet hang off the edge of the swing. I feel a little let down by this product, or perhaps my expectations were too high.
I do have to note that my son does like looking up at himself and at the spinning monkeys, so it serves as entertainment for a few minutes. But, if we have a third child we are likely not to buy this product again.
