I purchased the Igloo FR100 1.7 cubic feet refrigerator and freezer several months ago when I was trying to diet and needed a place to hide my healthy foods away from the people in my house who will eat just about anything in sight. I knew that I did not want to spend a ton of money and figured that a tiny fridge would suffice since it would only hold food for me.
The fridge has been nothing but trouble ever since I purchased it. For one, due to the way it is designed so that the door shelf takes up the majority of the space on the bottom shelf when the unit is closed, only very small items can be stored on the bottom shelf. To make matters worse, the entire section of the top shelf beneath the freezer compartment is unusable because the freezer leaks a blackish liquid. Instead, I have to keep a bowl or the plastic tray that the fridge came with underneath the freezer compartment to catch the liquid and dump it out regularly. As a result, I am left with very little fridge space where I can actually store anything. As if the lack of fridge space wasn't enough of an issue, I can all but forget about storing anything in the freezer compartment that I actually want to keep frozen, as the freezer compartment rarely lives up to its name. Occasionally, it seems to work, but most of the time, I remove my frozen foods from the compartment to find them thawed and any boxes they came in soggy. My final grievance with the fridge is its noisiness. Some noise is to be expected with any refrigerator, but the incessant buzzing sound that comes from the unit is excessive.
The next time I purchase a refrigerator, I will remember the experience I had with the Igloo FR100 1.7 cubic feet refrigerator and freezer and consider paying more money for greater quality.
