When we moved into our home over five years ago, the previous owners left us their Sharp microwave. It was in perfect condition and we have been enjoying it ever since. It is large on the inside, and can accommodate nearly any size of food I need to heat. There are a number of different settings to use, so it doesn't only heat up food. I have used it to thaw meat, cook rice, boil water, melt butter, and of course cook popcorn.
One of the features I especially like is, when defrosting, I have the ability to select the type of meat for example poultry or beef. Then I choose the amount, in pounds, and the microwave automatically adjusts the power so the meat is perfectly thawed, without hot spots as you normally see in microwave defrosts. I can also select different power levels manually for cooking rice or a frozen dinner. Of course there is a popcorn button which consistently gives a perfect bag of popcorn every time. Very few, if any, burnt or unpopped kernels are left over. I would definitely recommend this brand of microwave to anyone who is thinking about purchasing one. It's perfect for a home, small apartment, or even a college dorm room.
