Okay, so I KNOW makeup has a shelf life, which includes lipstick, but I've always been bad at getting rid of only partially used products. It just seems like such a waste, and I've yet to come down with some kind of irritation caused by a lipstick that was just too old.
My Clinique Colour Surge Bare Brilliance Lipstick in No. 12, Blushing Coral, is a prime example of makeup that lasts. I've had this one for years. Years. My mom gave it to me when I was a teenager and needed some kind of lip colour for a concert I was singing in. "So you don't look dead on stage" she said. In any case, I didn't need anything too dark, just a little colour to brighten my face.
Blushing coral is a great shade for my pale skin. It's quite sheer, but also has enough colour to show, and it's a pretty in-between kind of colour that's not too pink or too orange, just perfectly in the middle. It even has a little shimmer for lips that glisten, rather than appear matte. The lipstick goes on nice and smooth, and doesn't have any kind of funny taste or smell.
I know I should really throw it away, and maybe I'll spring for a new one soon, but for now, my trusted old Clinique lipstick is still going strong!
