When I am looking for eye makeup, one of the first things I look for is unique mascara. One of my most recent purchases is a new mascara from Rimmel. It is from the Scandaleyes collection, and I bought the Retro Glam in black. According to advertising, this mascara was supposed to give me the false lash look without the hassle or clumps.
Well, the mascara did give me the false lash look. However, it was a hassle and it did give me clumps. It took two coats of the mascara to even begin noticing a “plumping” of my lashes. The clumping was my biggest complaint. While I only added two coats, it felt and looked like I added 10 coats of mascara. The Scandaleyes Retro Glam mascara also did not fan out my lashes as advertised. In fact, it brought them all together and I had to use a lash brush just to separate them because it dries so fast.
I do like the darkness of the black color, it is much better than other mascaras I have used. I also like the brush, which is shaped in an hourglass way. This made it much easier to apply the mascara than previous brushes. There is also no ink smell that you tend to get with a strong mascara and it does dry fast to prevent the mascara from getting on my skin. Maybe after practicing with this mascara a few times it will improve, but for now, it is not worth the cost.
