I initially bought Burt's Bees Orange Essence Facial Cleanser with Orange Oil for the smell. It smells authentically like oranges in a very natural and zesty way. It's like having a tube of marmalade for your face, which is delicious, but it's a very different kind of facial cleanser. It contains orange oil, which is what makes the scent so strong and so real, and is supposed to work as a natural exfoliator, but because of this, it doesn't leave your face with that "squeaky clean" feeling, like you've stripped all the dirt off your skin. This cleanser is specifically made to not be overly drying for your skin, but it wouldn't work if your skin is naturally oily. I like to save this product to use in the winter, when my skin is more dry and needs all the extra moisture it can get.
Nice smooth texture
Smells like real oranges!
This is the most it will froth or foam
Because of it's formula, this cleanser doesn't foam up or get frothy, and it doesn't spread around your face very easily. Once rinsed off with water, it also makes your skin feel like it's not quite clean, and even a little oily, but it does actually clean the skin.
If you can get beyond the texture and feeling of this cleanser, it's definitely worth trying. Burt's Bees is a great brand, and I love the feeling of having actual orange bits in my face wash, but if you're the type who likes the foamy bubbles and "squeaky clean" feeling when you wash your face, you're probably not going to enjoy this product.
