Nivea is a great brand, and my husband has used their replenishing shave balm for years. I believe, however, the formula has changed from the original product. Now this shave balm has a heavy scent that is cloying and clingy. The lotion is not as thick as was found in the original formula, but rather thin and runny. It takes more product to do the job, and it doesn't seem to do the job as effectively as before.
That said, the shave balm is still smoothing to the skin. It does moisturize and eases shaving irritation. The product is packed with Vitamin E and a Provitamin B5 formula that helps to add moisture to dry skin. One of the main problems with this product is finding a happy medium between using just enough lotion to soothe the skin but not so much as to overwhelm the senses with the scent.
Due to the clingy scent and the thin quality of the lotion itself, I can only give this product 2 out of 5 stars. While Nivea is a good brand itself, since the composition of this product has changed so drastically I will be trying other shaving products in the future.
